The Secret To Creating A Solid Self-Evaluation Essay

To write about a random topic is not easy, but with a little bit of research and concentration it can be done. On the other hand, writing self-evaluation compositions is even more difficult, and many students have problems when they have to take care of this assignment. There are many tricks and tips that you can apply to make this essay a successful one, but most of all you have to be honest with yourself. Take a look at these ideas:

  • Establish what you want to evaluate. The topic needs to be very clear before you can think about actually writing the composition. If your professor did not give you any clear instructions, you can pretty much talk about anything. Your progress in football, your evolution in math and so on. To keep it simple, it’s better to write about your school grades or something similar.
  • Gather some evidence. In this case, you will have to write down exactly your grades in the last moths, some of the tests that you had and the projects that you completed. This will allow you to notice exactly if you are better in school than you were last year. If there is a course where you are not doing so great, be honest and mention this in your text. At least you will know in what direction you have to improve yourself.
  • Mention your past and future goals. In the beginning of the year for sure you established some goals for yourself regarding school and grades. How did this go? Are you good enough or you still want to improve certain things? At the same time, you can mention a few ideas about how you expect to evolve in the future and what are your goals. When you discuss about these things try to be realistic and not mention things that are impossible to be achieved.
  • Discuss about some circumstances that influenced you in a certain way. For example, the fact that your sibling was sick influenced you in negative way and you were not able to focus on your last project. This will allow you to make a fair evaluation and to understand what you have to avoid in the future in order to improve your grades. You can even ask the opinion of your teacher regarding your evolution and see what else you have to do.
